The Casualties of War
TXW's Open Challenge Night was more of a night that fueled the fires of current TXW rivalries than the sporting exhibition of professional wrestling it was supposed to be. The evening started off nice enough, with the North Knox Isshinryu school giving a demonstration at the beginning of the show, but it wasn't long before some fires got out of hand.
1) TXW Youtube TV Title
{EGO PRO} Junk Yard Barry (C) vs. {TXW} Funkmaster V
Barry Allen spoofed the Junk Yard Dog, and Funkmaster V tested Barry's forehead strength to prove to Barry that he was crazy, but after 6-7 head butts that left Funk dizzy, Funkmaster decided to abandon that strategy. After Barry kicked out of an O'Connor roll, Funkmaster V was hit in the head with a chain by Dwayne Windham. Result: Funkmaster V wins by DQ, Barry retains title.
Funkmaster V challenged Dwayne Windham to a Chain on a Pole Match for Christmas Chaos 4 to end their rivalry once and for all. Spoony Mack and Hollywood pitched Dwayne Windham in the ring and the JYB gave the Justin Bieber look alike the THUMP.
2) {TXW} Shawn Shultz w/ Tony Lucassio vs. {KFW} Chase Owens After a heck of a match that saw many acrobatic spots, Chase Owens had it in the bag with Shawn Shultz in an STF submission lock. Tony Lucassio jumped up on the apron to distract the ref as Shawn tapped out. Chase released the hold, and Shultz grabbed him. After several reversals and pin attempts, Chase was able to land the 1...2...3 with a surprise pin after a pile driver reversal.
Winner: Chase Owens wins by pinfall
3) {TXW} Violet Adams vs/ {SSW} Misty James Violet Adams and Misty James wrestled what could have been Mac MacMurray's last match as Violet defeated her with the High Roller neck breaker. Mac MacMurray injured his leg leaving the ring and was done for the night officiating. Winner: Violet Adams wins via pinfall
4) {TXW} Bobby Rayne & Tsunami Kid Vs.
{SSW} Beau James and JP Plunkett Bobby Rayne and Tsunami's distain for each other was obvious for each other from the get go, as the tag team from Kingsport got the better of the TXW team from the start. However, with the ref trying to get Tsunami and Beau James back in the ring, Bobby low-blowed Plunkett and finished him off with a Flatliner. Winner: Bobby Rayne and Tsunami Kid win via pinfall
5) {TXW} Creatures of the Night Vs.
{SAW} Street Dreams w/ Dwayne Windham as ref. The Creatures of the Night attacked Street Dreams at Severe Attitude Wrestling's show in Maryville the week before, and Street Dreams was back to retaliate this month at TXW. This was a great tag team match where Dwayne Windham was keeping the advantage to the TXW's team side, but when Street Dreams reversed Shane and The Demon into Dwayne, Windham went out cold due to the avalanche. Street Dreams was able to pin the Creatures of the Night, but with no ref, Mac MacMurray was forced to hobble to the ring for the 1...2..3! Winners: Street Dreams by pinfall
The Reverend announced that Street Dreams won the titles in the excitement, but this was a non title match. Street Dreams did take the belts with them, and later cut a promo about pawning them. But at that moment, Shane Daniels and the Demon took out the weeks of build up aggression on Mac MacMurray. The Security Guards, Spoony Mack, Hollywood Kid, Funkmaster V and Maskerade rushed out to save Mack, but the damage was done before they could break through the defenses of the other Creatures of the Night. Finally, the dust settled and Mack was taken to the back for treatment.
6) TXW Heavweight Championship
Bobby Blassie (c) vs. Allen Shepard It seemed like Bobby Blassie was channeling his dark side in this match. He took on ex-tag team champion Allen Shepard in place of Bob O Mac. O Mac broke his hand this month but was special guest ref. Allen gave his all to Blassie, who was about to land his finisher on Blassie to become the new champ until Nick Taylor interfered. As Bob O Mac had his hands full with Preston Tipton and the Isshinryu guys at ringside, Nick smacked Allen in the face with the belt- knocking him out cold. A reluctant Bob O Mac turned around made the count. Winner: Blassie retains title by pinfall.
Nick yelled at Allen, Blassie yelled at Bob O Mac... there's no telling what December 18th with hold at Christmas Chaos 4.
