A Night For the Good Guys

June 20th Recap

Like last show, the TXW phenomenon began with the Lovely Beth singing the National Anthem. But, before she was finished, Funkmaster V came to the ring and apologized for acting like a fool the month before and awkwardly proposing to her in front of his wife and kids. Still being annoyed with her, he challenged her to a "sing off" for the rights to sing the National Anthem from now on. Apparently, the crowd didn't appreciate his rendition of "Two Coins in a Fountain" compared to her "Amazing Grace". Funkmaster V lost it again, and grabbed her and started screaming at her about embarrassing him again. Her fiancé, the referee Bob O Mac, came into the ring and bounced Funk out of it. Bobby announced that he had been training for the last year and announced his retirement from reffing and the beginning of his new career as a pro wrestler. He signed Funkmaster's open contract and announced that Funkmaster will finally get what he deserves in a ring... much to the delight of the crowd.

The first bout featured the Supa Dupa Fly J-Mac vs. the awkwardly disturbing Ryan Dookie. J-Mac finished off Dookie with his version of the Dudley Dog.

TXW newcomer Shawn Streets debuted against the ring veteran Ed Idol. Things were going well until Donovan Daniels' impatience brought him to the ring and distracted Streets long enough for Idol to gain the advantage and sneak the win.

After the match, Daniels, holding the TXW Title, accompanied by Tony Lacassio, demanded to know who the special belt holder would be in the nights' Main Event against Jerry Lee. He was surprised to learn it was Shawn Streets. Streets promised the TXW fans that no one would be stealing the title again tonight!

Bob O Mac made Funkmaster V tap out to his own finisher, the Figure Four. The crowd erupted as Funkmaster screamed for mercy and slapped the mat repeatedly.

The local Tag Legends, the Death Row Inmates defeated the TXW newcomers the 606 Squad with their finisher, "The Lockdown!"

Former tag partners, Merrick Vestal and Bobbie Rayne went at it once again, with Merrick getting the upper hand and finishing off Bobbie in style. After the match, however, Bobbie decided that he wasn't going out like that, and smashed Merrick's face with a mirror and threw a fireball into the face of the former Forsaken Angels Guild member. It was pretty d*mn gruesome.

After the break, Sgt AWOL, the Reaper, and Tyson Daly hit the ring, with Reaper wearing Funkmaster's hat! AWOL stated that Funkmaster wasn't feeling up to doing the Mothership, so they would be having an episode of the Daly Dose! Tyson was going to interview Merrick Vetal, but the heavily gauzed Merrick cleared the ring and announced that he is challenging Bobby Rayne to a "Juggalo 4 Corners Match"! What is a Juggalo Four Corner Match? I dunno, but I think this means Merrick with be debuting a new psychotic side of himself at the next TXW show.

In the Tag Team Championship Match, the fan faves the Blassie Twins and Ruff Cut provided the crowd with some laughs and solid action. The Blassies won the straps after Bobby Blassie landed a top rope cross body on Mike and Jody and Billy and Bobby made the double pin to the delight of the crowd.

The in "Fans Bring the Weapons" Main Event, the champ showed up without his title once again, but this time Jerry Lee had some help. Shawn Streets, being the belt holder for the match, insured that Donovan Daniels nor his manager Tony Lacassio would not steal the strap again. The Main Event featured a lot of blood, sweat and tears... as the two main Eventers pounded each other with various objects that the fans brought. Tony Lacassio even shot Lee with a Water Gun. That proved ineffective. Donovan tried to run away with the belt several times, but Streets made sure that he didn't. After from returning from the street fight outside, the wrestlers returned to the ring and Jerry nailed Daniels with a Powerslam on thumbtacks and the champ got the 1-2-3. This time, Jerry Lee got to leave with belt in style.
