New Sheriff in Town
The heat couldn't drive away the TXW faithful, as 125 fans watched what probably was the best overall show in TXW history.
1) Robbie Race vs. Donovan Daniels Donovan Daniels wrestled his second match in 4 months at tonight, and the crowd was amazingly receptive to the man who once terrorized Jerry lee. However, the Team Ruff Cutt member, Robbie Race, was able to get the upper hand and pin Daniels with his feet on the ropes for the 1-2-3.
Winner by pinfall: Robbie Race
2) TXW Heavyweight Championship
Billy Marshall (c) vs. Jerry Lee The match was kicked up a few notches when the crowd started chanting "chop chop chop" for Jerry Lee. Lee lit up Marshall with several chops, and the champ returned the favor. Marshall was able to use his size to roll Lee up in a school boy, and with a hand full of tights later, Marshall scored the 1-2-3.
Winner and still champion by pinfall: Billy Marshall
3) Shawn Shultz vs. Dr. Cancer Dr. Cancer from the Headstrong Zodiacs was no match for Shawn Shultz, as the match ended quickly after a DDT. After the match, the NWA Mid-America TV Title holder grabbed a mic and boasted to everyone, "I just beat cancer!"
Winner by pinfall: Shawn Shultz
4) TXW Youtube TV Title Match
Funkmaster V (c) vs. Dwayne Windham w/ JK Nelson Fellow graduate of the TXW training school, JK Nelson, was constantly provoked by Funkmaster, forcing the ref to detain Nelson several times during the match. This allowed Funk to maintain most of the offense by rule-breaking. However, Dwayne reversed the trend with high impact moves, and Funkmaster V luckily grabbed the rope after a Windham Frog Splash to avoid losing the title. Once again, JK Nelson tried to tell the ref that Funkmaster had a chain, but a distracted Mac McMurray detained Nelson again, allowing Funk to lay the rookie with one shot.
Winner and still champion by pinfall: Funkmaster V
The Mothership
Funkmaster V had a Mothership where we wanted the TXW management to admit to the fans that they were actually grateful for Team Ruff Cutt, because the tickets sales have never been this consistent. Billy Marshall came out, draped with his Heavyweight Championship and the suspended Tag Team Titles of Mike Powers and Jody Rivers. Preston came out to the ring and stated that Commissioner Billy Marshall was abusing his authority, and that he was fired. The new Commissioner would be Preston's friend, David Branson.
The new Commissioner didn't waste any time at all. He first stripped Ruff Cutt of the Tag Team Titles because of what they did to Preston last month. Billy Marshall then pushed the new Commish, and he pushed back even harder. Branson then stripped Marshall of his Heavyweight Championship, as well. Funkmaster then grabbed the mic and told Billy that Team Ruff Cutt should have followed the rules more closely, and then the new Commish said, "Funkmaster, you've been trying to be a part of Team Ruff Cutt so bad, maybe I should you treat you like them," and he yanked away the belt from Funkmaster, too!
The new Commish then said that next month, there will be one match for all of the belts, and the stipulations of that match will be announced soon.
5) Menace vs. Travis Sawyer vs. Sigmon This triple threat was AMAZING, as three of the most athletic wrestlers in East Tennessee put on a show that TXW fans will be talking about for weeks to come. The match ended with Menace landing a Moonsault on Sigmon, with Travis trying to break the pin. The crowd cheered as Menace raised his arm in the air.
Winner by pinfall: Menace
6) The Bob Squad vs. The Memphis Mafia The Memphis Mafia is a tough masked tag team from the Western part of the state, but the Bob Squad didn't look bothered by larger, legendary tag team at all. In fact, the Bob Squad donned masks of their own, and early on in the match, switched in and out of the ring illegally to the delight of the fans. Eventually, the Bob Squad's masks were removed by the Mafia and it was business as usual. Bobby Blassie landed his diving elbow on Mafia #1, and Bob O Mac landed a flying crossbody on Mafia #2 for the 1-2-3! Winners by pinfall: The Bob Squad
7) 4 Corners of Death Match
Demetria w/ Monroe Fayte vs. Maskerade TXW Owner Jerry Tipton reminded the fans that these two wrestlers signed a contract relieving TXW of all liability from the following bout. Demetria encouraged his valet Monroe Fayte to leave the area, because it would be too dangerous for her to be there. The fight over the Juggalo legacy came to a head, as Demetria and Maskerade did constant evil to each other for almost 20 minutes. From being strangled with log chains, to dollar bills being stapled to Maskerade's head, to several chair, Kendo, Baking Sheet shots, and a Russian Leg Sweep on the pavement, the crowd was shocked the whole match. When lighting started to flicker in the distance, large dogs ran through the ring area, and the wind picked up, the TV announcers swore that they have upset the balance of power in the universe. After Demetria opened up Maskerade with a mirror shot, Monroe Fayte came out and laid out Demetria with a Kendo Stick. Maskerade then scooped up his rival into his reclining chokehold, and Demetria was knocked out as chants of TXW TXW were heard. Winner by TKO: Maskerade
The New Commish also announced the list of twelve competitors for July 18th match where all the titles will be decided: Bob O Mac, Bobby Blassie, Jerry Lee, Chris Cameron, Dwayne Windham, Maskerade, Demetria, Billy Marshall, Mike Powers, Jody Rivers, Robbie Race, Funkmaster V.
